    A Soviet Tatar poet, playwright, writer Abdulla Aliş in 1941 got drafted for the World War II as a Red Army soldier. That same year he was taken prisoner by the Wehrmacht near the Russian town of Bryansk.
   At the Nazi prison he met the resistance fighter and poet Musa Djalil. The two joined the Idel-Ural Legion that formed a hidden resistance team to oppoze the Nazis. Later their plans were revealed and the activists, including Abdulla Alish and Musa Djalil were guillotined in Berlin's notorious Plötzensee Prison in 1944, August, 25
